Alley 19 is a simple, yet addictive bowling game. Using the mouse, you control the bowler from the time he's sitting at the score table, to the time he throws the ball. After some practice, you should be able to control the speed and curve of the ball.
Alley 19 also includes Instant Replay, a Statitistics Board, and an accomodating waitress. Up to four players may compete.
It's simple. To begin, click on the floor area. Anywhere between the sitting bowler and the spinning ball will work fine. The bowler will rise from his seat and move towards the mouse cursor. Whenver the bowler is not in his seat, he is attached to the mouse, whether the mouse button is selected or not.
Move the bowler (mouse cursor) towards the ball spinning in the ball return. The bowler will pick up the ball. Now, position the bowler to prepare to bowl. When you are ready to begin your delivery, click and hold down the mouse button. Advance through your delivery by easing the mouse forward (mouse button STILL DOWN.) Upon reaching the foul line, the ball will be released.
The tricky part... The mouse motion which occurs in the moment just before the ball is released determines the speed and curve of the ball. The more vertical (towards the pins) mouse movement during this small interval of time, the greater the speed. Increasing movement towards the right, increases the left curve (hook.) Movement to the left will cause the ball to curve right (slice.)
To enter player names... Click on the box in the scoreboard where you wish to enter or change a name, then begin typing. You can clear names or just scores by hitting the Clear button.
The rest is pretty self explanitory. Hit the service button and ask the waitress for help for more info.
Oh, and don't forget the "Expression" buttons at the base of the alley. They're real handy for expressing yourself after a shot.
Version 1.0 was released on August 1, 1995. Subsequent versions included various bug fixes and adjustments, but essentially, the program has not changed too much since its initial incarnation.
Suzetti Software was founded in March of '95 and is the developer of It's About Time, a soon to be released (by another publisher) Personal Info Manager/Calendar, and of course, Alley 19. Plans for other games are in the works.
Suzetti Software will be releasing Alley 19 PRO by the end of February, 1996. Alley 19 PRO is a complete rewrite of the original, and bears little resemblence to its predecessor. It includes 3-D, rendered, Plug-In artwork, multiple bowlers, background music, Rock 'n Bowl, and many other goodies.
You'll be able to select from different bowlers, different balls, different waitresses,... even different bowling allies! Here's a typical scene from Alley 19 PRO...
HOW TO REGISTER
If you continue to play Alley 19 with a non registered version, the waitress will increasingly ask you to register. If you would like to play a nice peaceful game without the constant annoyance, and... you would like to see the waitress in her bikini, and... you enjoy the game, then please register your copy.
If she's not already out bugging you, hit the Service button to call the waitress. Tell her you wish to register. A registration form will appear. Please enter all requested information. When completed, click the print button (if you do not have a printer, simply copy the information on a piece of paper.)
Send in the form, with a check for $13. Upon receiving your order, we will email (or mail if you don't have an email address) the code that will unlock your copy and become a registered player. If you would like a pre-registered copy of the program on disk, please include an additional $3 for shipping and handling.
